The Community Arts Center of Cambria County is pleased to announce its annual Scholarship Award Program for senior art students residing in Cambria County.

This year, the Community Arts Center has available to award four (4) scholarships:

  • Richard G. and Wanda I. Baker Community Arts Center Scholarship Fund Award of $1,000
  • 1st Summit Bank Employee Foundation Scholarship in Memory of Elmer C. Laslo Award of $5,000 (Sponsored by 1st Summit Bank Employee Foundation) For the past 21 years, the 1st Summit Bank Employee Foundation has donated an annual art scholarship to the Community Arts Center. In honor and memory of 1st Summit Bank's late CEO & President, Elmer C. Laslo, a special $5,000 scholarship will be presented to a high school senior who plans to continue his/her formal education in an artistically driven field. By naming this art scholarship after Mr. Laslo, the Foundation will remember the many contributions he made to the Community Arts Center as a member of the Board of Directors for over 30 years. Mr. Laslo was committed to preserving and expanding the arts in the Greater Johnstown community; and 1st Summit Bank Employee Foundation strives to build upon the legacy he leaves with this scholarship.

We are so pleased to announce that we have once again partnered with the Allied Artists of Johnstown to bring additional scholarships to be awarded.
