This Olympic-themed camp is centered around the Opening Ceremony, with teams representing different Greek gods as their “mascot”. Each contestant (camper) will learn all about Greek mythology, Olympic customs, and how the Olympics originated. In doing so, campers will create a toga, cloak, and tainia (gold leaf headband). During the week they will make Olympic rings, torches, metals, and a flag representing their Greek god mascot to wear during the Olympic games. Fun Day Friday will consist of an Opening Ceremony and a variety of competition games (e.g., track and field, archery, water balloon, arts & crafts) to earn points.
