Internship Opportunities

Please thoroughly review the different internship descriptions below before applying.


All of our internship opportunities are unpaid. If intern participates and adheres to all of the outlining rules of the internship, they will be eligible to receive a stipend at the completion of the internship.


Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Previous volunteer and public relations experience preferred
  • PC skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Publisher, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Organized and clean workspace
  • High level of professionalism

Arts Management & Marketing

  •  Assist with donor database and prepare donor tax letters/thank you letters
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to management/development initiatives including special events, fundraisers, and more
  • Identify new funding opportunities and engage with potential sponsors
  • Assist with special fundraising evening and/or weekend events as assigned
  • Will be assigned and/or develop a summer fundraising event and fully manage/execute the initiative
  • Provide general support to the Executive Director
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, donors, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, gallery visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis

Social Media & Graphic Design

  •  Assist in creating & designing print materials such as flyers, postcards, brochures, etc.
  • Assist in creating & designing material for digital advertising (Emails, social media content, website content, etc.)
  • Take photos of events, classes, workshops, and summer camps as they happen
  • Retouch and manipulate images as needed
  • Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media, including raster and vector images, and potentially video
  • Receive feedback from the Design & Social Media Manager and make necessary changes on any projects
  • Will be assigned all marketing/promotional aspects of one smaller event/initiative during the time they are here (this will include the website, social media, and all print and digital advertising)

Art & Education

EDUCATION OFFICE

  • Carry out administrative tasks related to art education (database management, telephone calls, promotional emails)
  • Provide general support to Education & Outreach Coordinator 
  • Interact with Executive Director and Design & Social Media Manager to perform tasks 
  • Prepare products for Kids Kingdom (Log House Arts Festival)


CAMPS

  • Will be assigned one week of camp planning & execution under the supervision of Education & Outreach Coordinator 
  • Assist Education & Outreach Coordinator with all aspects of art camps for children ages 3-18, including but not limited to: Creating lesson plans, assisting instructors in creating lesson plans, compiling supply/shopping lists, creating shopping lists, instructing children, & assisting instructors
  • Remaining weeks the intern will assist with all aspects of camp planning and execution 
  • Communicate with parents 
  • Interact with children 
  • Support art instructors 
  • Opening & Closing times each day with support of Education Coordinator 
  • Set up and prepare rooms and outdoor areas 
  • Supervise teen volunteers 
  • Provide support for Education & Outreach Coordinator 

Log Art Theatre

Log Art Theatre (LAT) internship applications are open now! LAT Productions will be comprised of community-based volunteers of all performance levels: novice, amateur, experienced, and semi-professional. Internships are interconnected with LAT Productions and provide opportunities for anyone interested in directing, stage managing, lighting design, sound design, set design, stage crew, makeup design, and costume design, for those 18 years of age or older. Interns accepted will work with one of the Center’s professionals in their area of choice for a minimum of two full-length productions and two LAT Performance Workshops. For internships, progress evaluations will be completed by the assigned Center professional(s). Applications are due on Friday, December 17, 2021 for internships in 2022.
