Widely considered a masterpiece, this timeless classic challenges American ideas of power, intolerance, and justice. In the Puritan community of Salem, Massachusetts, a servant girl accuses a farmer’s wife of witchcraft. One accusation spirals into many, uncovering a web of bigotry and deceit that changes their lives forever. Among the most produced plays since its 1953 debut, THE CRUCIBLE is both a gripping historical drama and an evergreen parable of contemporary society.

A masterpiece of black farce, Loot follows the fortunes of two young thieves. Dennis works for an undertaker. Hal's old Mum has just died. They rob the bank next door to the funeral parlour and find just the place to hide the loot. With the money hidden in Mum's coffin, there's no place for Mum, whose body keeps re-appearing at the most inopportune times. When Inspector Truscott turns up, the already thickened plot goes topsy-turvy. Loot saw its premiere in London in 1966 and remains on of the most potent works from this master of the macabre.

This play takes place in the smallest of towns in the Appalachian foothills of Western Maryland. It is a sleepy burg near the Mason Dixon line forgotten and untouched by time. Imagine no village square, save for a small triangular shaped yard which during the holiday season boasts life-size Plaster of Paris nativity figures reverently placed inside a gazebo. The social and political agenda of the town has been maintained for the most part by the members of the Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church is the place where anybody who knows anybody who knows anything about everything comes to worship. This church is where the Lightbearer was established. At first just a women's Sunday School class, the all-female members had determined that Jesus did not just show up for church on Sunday and neither should they. The Lightbearer was conceived as an outreach program to provide clothing to the naked, food to the hungry, hope to the hopeless, and cheer to the downtrodden.
Over the years, they have sung at nursing homes, conducted bake sales for the local charity kitchens, and even linked arms for Hands Across America. But also, over the years, the charter members have been "going home to be with Jesus" and the remaining ranks are not having much luck attempting to recruit the younger crowd. In this story, there are only five of the regular members now left. Five women. Holding the organization...and each other together...now.Over the years, they have sung at nursing homes, conducted bake sales for the local charity kitchens, and even linked arms for Hands Across America.
