Brian was born and raised in Altoona, PA. His talent for music developed in elementary school, where he was chosen to participate in County Chorus two years in a row. He also acted and sang in his school’s production of “Free to Be You and Me”.
His love for singing would follow him throughout his life. He sang in Roosevelt Jr. High School’s Chorus, his church’s choir, Altoona Area High School’s chorus as well as the more elite Vocal Music Ensemble. He also worked as a part of the stage crew for the high school production of “Hello Dolly” and performed in the chorus of the high school production of “Lil’ Abner”.
Brian would eventually teach himself to play guitar, as well as other string instruments to accompany himself. He has been entertaining audiences as a solo performer, and has also been a member of B.P.M., Rockmix, Still Rockin’ and Orange Fire.
In 1993, Brian was hired and trained as a Ballroom Dance Instructor for Dancing…Now That’s Living in Duncansville, PA. In 2005, he moved to Johnstown, PA to teach for Sherry Lynn’s Ballroom Dance Center. In 2006, Brian would marry Sherry Lynn. Together, they continued teaching and performing until the business’ closure in 2022.
During the pandemic, the dance studio was shut down and Brian found himself with a lot of time on his hands. He used this time to teach himself basic sword skills and tai chi. In 2022, he co-founded the Gray Saber Academy.
In 2023, Brian decided to return to Ballroom Dance Instruction. He is, now, pleased to share these gifts as a ballroom dance instructor for Log Arts Dance and as a tai chi instructor for the CACCC.
Sisi spent her childhood living with her conservative State Chief Justice grandpapa, in China, and liberal, warm and outgoing grandmama because both her parents are busy university professors. In her dancing classes, you might find Sisi a serious teacher providing clear instructions and solid encouragement. Yet be prepared for her room-freezing deadpan quotes. After spending 1/5 of her law school time playing softball, she graduated and worked as an in-house counsel.
Sisi has a lot of stage performance experiences ever since her kindergarten years doing solos and group dances. She has danced Irish steps for 15 years but has never won any international prizes. Her favorite Irish dance sets are Blackbird (Molyneaux) and Vanishing Lake. She is a member of IAMPETH, writing uncial, gothic, engrosser’s script, ornamental penmanship. Recently, she is smitten with offhand flourishing.
Sisi is incredibly thankful to Log Art Dance for this invaluable educating opportunity. She will work smart to enhance students' dance skills.
