The Community Arts Center of Cambria County will be cancelling the 2020 Log House Arts Festival on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th of this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization’s primary concern is for the safety of the public. Since the festival was set for Labor Day weekend, it may be quite a shock that it has been cancelled this far in advance. Events such as festivals require an exorbitant amount of manpower and preparation time. The Log House Arts Festival preparations begin in October of the previous year and rely on the scheduling and coordinating of over 100 vendors, over 15 different entertainers and musicians, over 200 volunteers, children’s programming, rentals (tents, tables, chairs, etc.), and numerous sponsors.
“It is with much sadness and dismay that the Community Arts Center of Cambria County is cancelling the 2020 Log House Arts Festival. To many, this will not be a surprise with the ongoing uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the it is our hope that you help us look forward to the dynamic celebration of the 50th Anniversary Log House Arts Festival on September 4th & 5th, 2021. The Community Arts Center will be working towards an increase in a multitude of areas for the 50th anniversary festival. This includes new indoor vendor booth spaces, the new Amphitheater for music and entertainment, premier entertainment, additional parking, and an outdoor sound system so the entire property can enjoy music and announcements at appropriate levels. In the meantime, we will be providing exciting summer and fall initiatives with proper social distancing to keep the community engaged in artistic activities. Thank you for respecting our decision, as it was a hard one to make, and your understanding. We are lucky to have such a supportive community that cherishes the arts.”
